I met my husband in Galveston. We were truck drivers and were picking up loads. We became friends, then we fell in love. Had a wonderful life. I lost him 5 years ago. I still play Galveston and just sit and remember.

I recall seeing a video about this, he was wearing a Vietnamera uniform. Could it not be for any war, anywhere?

Glen sure still has it all and great persona right behind those awesome riffs!!!! I may have been a dumb teen who loved his sons and looks along with John, Roy, Jerry, Tommy and Ricky BUT his talent was so superior and we only really appreciate it now .... Wow! Still gets me when I hear his songs. We love you Glen!

I remember my trip to Galveston in the '70's. With all these beautiful lyrics, it had to be heaven on Earth, right? Instead, what I experienced was what happens when man rapes the Earth for profit. I remember oily slime between my toes and not being able to hold on to my inflatable raft because it was too slippery. In the distance, there was a really great view of an offshore oil rig. If you like swimming in dirty Vaseline, you'll love Galveston.

To give some perspective especially to those born after 1990....Glen Campbell was cranking out hit songs in the late 1960`s with the same frequency that Apple cranks out i-phones today...Non-stop!!!

What a talented performer! Love his smile and the twinkle in his eyes as as he hits the final note in the song! Wish I was at that concert in person, but this is the next best thing!

I CHANGED MY MIND ... This is now my favorite, and most emotionally compelling war song ever ... gets me every time with both sadness and happiness intermingled in just about every verse. Amazing. PS: My favorite war song, fyi, used to be Love Vigilantes by New Order. Regards, Brian.

It's so sad that such a great singer has to deal with Alzheimers. He is and always will be a huge inspiration for me.

This is to the stupid fucks who voted "dislike" on this: Write your comments for the others to see. I dare you, PUSSIES!!. Glen plays an incredible solo to end in front of 10,000s of thousands of people live, and he hits every fucking note clean with impeccable style. REPLY!!!!
