You got me wondering Ken so I checked their website ! You are right the restaurant sounds great and the reviews very good . I`m sure they are totally unaware Gilberts Restaurant appears briefly in this little video ! I`ve never been to Ireland at all but would love to visit there one day . Who knows Ken if we show them this video there might be a free meal in it for us ! A little free advertising won`t have done them any harm . I hope you get there some day - it would be fun to track it down .

Thanks Mo, I thought perhaps there was a connection and I know any video & photos are all your own work, we have a lot to thank you for. Still, I couldn't resist the search. My daughter-in-law is a Swindon lass, so there's a good chance I may return to Swindon. If I do, THAT restaurant in Ireland is a definite spot for me to visit as well. Waterford and Cobh are not very distant from each other.

That`s interesting Ken ! I don`t suppose there`s any connection at all with " Himself " but I thought the picture was appropriate for the lyrics of the song .I think there`s quite a few " O`Sullivans " pubs in Ireland too !

Mohawk, After checking through a list of 259 Swindon restaurants for Gilbert's Restaurant, it's not there. I removed Swindon from the equation & finally found it is situated at 11 Pearse Square, Cobh, Ireland and judging by the fantastic reviews it should be everyone's first port of call when visiting Ireland. BTW, I've been to Swindon and am amazed that they have 259 restaurants. Cheers

Well Donna I`ve shook his hand a couple of times ( I resisted hugging him being male !) and I can tell you he`s really a shy and humble guy off-stage . You would love him . And I hope I look that good at his age ! So sorry about your daughter - but like you have discovered music can be a great healer at times like that . Hi Donna ! The best way to meet him is after a concert - but being in the USA that causes you a problem ! There has been constant talk of dates in America for the last few years but nothing seems to come together , Two concerts in NewYork were announced for last year - then cancelled . Hopefully he will tour in the UK again next year . He DOES meet EVERY fan after each show and poses for photos and gives autographs . I would love to see him return to the US - they have never forgotten him ..
