Gilbert wasn`t available to perform on the TOP OF THE POPS Christmas show in 1973 , so the BBC got their resident dancers PANS PEOPLE to choreograph a now famous routine with dogs to go with the song . So what if Gilbert HAD been there ? Maybe the result would have looked something like this ......

Great idea....more Pans is sorely needed for all us male back end- baby boomers who never got over 'em...When will the BBC wake up with some DVDs ???Theyre missing a fortune in revenue !!14 years ago

@RAYalized Well spotted Nicole ! Yes , despite it being one of his biggest hits here in the UK he never performed it on Top Of The Pops . He spent a lot of time away in 1973 - the end of 1973 saw his only tour in America and then he was doing shows at the London Palladium when he got back . Maybe that`s why he couldn`t make it on Top Of The Pops. But everyone always remembers the Pans People routine - the dogs look so puzzled - like " What`s going on here ? " ...lol14 years ago
