Only One Woman -

"Gene Pitney" - Transcribed by Brent441

Ten little indians, stand in a row.

I bet there are many, so how would I know.

Cause she was only one woman,

Only one woman.

And I've got a picture,

of the woman I-I-I love.

Who sees my lonely face, who sees my shame,

nobody in the place, can tell me her name.

Cause she was only one woman,

only one woman.

And I've got a picture,

of that woman I-I-I love.

----(Music Interlude)----

Ten little indians, now there are none.

I bet there are many, but love still goes on.

She was only one woman,

only one woman.

And I've got a picture,

of that woman I-I-I love.

She was only one woman,

only one woman.

And I've got a picture,

of that woman I-I-I love.

Well she was only one woman,

only one woman.

More one great version to the Bee Gees strong classic. Mables make one epic to it.

Yes, the combination of commitment and loss ....

Graham Bonnet wouldn't make a pimple on Gene's arse. Also, this is the worst song the BeeGees ever wrote. Call me when Bonnet sells over 63.million records.

This is one of the songs I never can forget. Over the years. For me it's the illusion of eternity love. It is not imaginary but there is no reason to match it. That's life or only one woman that was missing.

Only a very few - and I mean a very few - male singers are given the ability/talent to sing powerfully above C4 (this note is a turning point for me and for many other singers too), and - with all my respects - Gene Pitney is not one of them. Freddie Mercury for example. But if you really want something marvellous, just listen to Graham Bonnet's version. That guy could reach notes that even Freddie couldn't.

You know, this was really different for gene to record, but I don't think it is the tragedy you all make it out to be. Let's face it, compared to some of the music we hear today, this is great. At least you can understand him and he does have a good voice. I wouldn't choose this song if I could choose any of his, but it isn't all that bad. that's my opinion so please don't blast me for it. We are all entiltled to our favorites.

Thanks for this detail rideon77. I think it's conclusive that Bonnet's version is the best.
