Im 44 now and this is the first proper song I can remember. My mum and dad had a radiogram - a cross between a sideboard and a stereo and I thought that there were wee men inside the wood playing guitar and xylophones...I LOVE THIS

take your mind back to december 1973 & all the christmas fuss with elton john & slade & Wizzard! but this song was the highlight of 1973 as far as i am concerned. This song is a throwback to Sedaka like songs from the early 60,s . Roy Wood,s best offering of all time!a very spector like offering! 10 out of 10 !!!!!!!!!!!

Great Beach Boys tribute. Roy Wood, an unsung genius but those of us who know, love the man and the work he did back then and the work he does now. Superb power-pop.

Roy Wood - Britain's one-man Beach Boys. Around 2.10 you can definitely hear an ELO influence. Fantastic song. So glad this was the music when I was 14. Feel so sorry for today's teenagers.

Great song! I linked this video in my blog for a review of Roy Wood's "Definitive Album" Belgium pressing Lp. Thanks

I can see where you are coming from...the ending also has a nod to Foot Tapper by the Shadows...bear in mind in 1973 there was a big 50's and 60's revival going on which only died with the advent of Punk...it was brought on by American Graffiti, That'll be the Day and the release of the Beatles Red and Blue albums
