It's been disappointing watching Suburban Legends decline so dramatically since the first album. The same band who created incredible ska songs like "Don Juan" and "I Want More" is producing this kind of contrived stuff now that the old guys left.

What I really like about the song is there are no claims they are better than the other guys, No claims that they are "too nice". Basically they're saying they wish they were with this girls and when she talks about her boyfriends it drives him crazy but he accepts that it will never be so he is fine with being just friends.
