There is only *one year* that can be the "vintage" of a song like this: *1967*! Another typical "67-song" is Traffic's "Hole in my Shoe"! In my mind, 1967 was the best year our planet ever saw ...

Classic song...you forget how special it is cos it can be overshadowed by the first track on Radio 1 tag.

Of course, this band would evolve into 70's hitmakers ELO.

While kids in my school were listening to pop in the 90s I was listening to sixties music and would get laughed at for it.

Johnny Dankworth's "Beefeaters" was technically the first song to be played on Radio 1 as it was the theme tune to Tony Blackburn's "Daily Disk Delivery" and the reason I know that is because it is on Wikipedia, lol.

The first song played on BBC's Radio 1. If they only knew what the song was about maybe it would have been banned instead. Innocence you can beat it!
