I fell in love with her voice in my childhood, while listening this rock-opera..) Her voice associated to me with the image of Feminine Beauty . Also Caiaphas in this version had a very memorable & curious voice (which fascinated me greatly) , not mentioning Judas -M. Head & Gillan surely))

Sorry to upset the usual "the original is best" cartel, but I think the '73 version is much more accomplished. Ted Neeley has a superior voice to Gillan (for the context of the opera) and Carl Anderson is sublime.

Even though I've grown fond of the movie soundtrack over the years, The "Brown Album" is the one by which all other versions will forever be measured, IMHO.

I grrew up with this version and defend it against ALL others. Deep Purple's Ian Gillan and Murray Head--the funky hip band playing.... IMHO untouchable.
