I still have this album, it's a masterwork, for sure. For a long time, THIS great opening was my favorite, but lately, " MY Girl" & " That's Rock & Roll" hit me even better. What a talent this man is. Wolfsky9

Always liked this tune - shoulda been a hit, but wasn't. (Not in UK anyway). BUT....Original it ain't!! First half is pure Beach Boys copycat stuff, and the second half is so derivative of Elton John's "Love Lies Bleeding" that Reg shoulda sued!

This song was chosen as the launch song for a station in the UK called Beacon Radio in 1976. The station's strapline was "the sunshine sound" and it was the perfect song to open Beacon as it played a heavy rotation of Amercan chart music and even had the weekly Billboard Hot 100 show every Sunday night. Superb !

It's such a joy to find this here! I haven't heard this since my high school days in the late '70's. I can remember WMEE in Ft. Wayne, Indiana play this ,preceded by "Nadia's Theme" ,aand usually seamlessly segued together. I've always been an Eric Carmen fan, from his days with Raspberries. God bless YouTube for bring us all this glorious, seldom-heard music to be enjoyed once again. And for the chance to reminisce about the times in which we heard those songs, and to remember the way they made us feel inside. I can't begin to thank all these good people nearly enough for the the joy they bring us. God bless you all!

I remember first hearing this in my Chevelle as I was doing some last minute cramming for a test outside a college lecture hall. Afterwards I went out and bought two copies on 45 rpm vinyl so that I'd always have an unused copy for my "library". It's truly a song you never tire listening to due to Erics' true composing genius, great instrumental virtuosity and smooth voice. Gotta love that awesome, maybe one of a kind bridge at the end that combines both piano and guitar. Timeless rock!

Unfortunately, the single was rather edited. To get the full majesty of this you have hear the album version. This is pop perfection.
