you are absolutely right. to me it was never about "emo" itself but about knuckleheads who totally misinterpret something and assimilate it into the mainstream... what bands like rites of spring and embrace did was fantastic! because it was DIFFERENT... and then some idiots turn it into a fashion for confused kids in puberty. the term represents this fashion to me, therefore i reject it.
