Saw Elton and Ray Cooper perform this. Fall 1979. NYC. Palladium theatre. Think they got the idea for the Evil Scientist Dr. Doofernshmirtz from Ray Cooper. Anyhow, he plays an Evil tambourine. How does he hold out tambourine rolls for like a minute and a half in perfect vibration and tempo?? Will never forget that concert. Two masters at work beats a 10 piece band!

At #40 this week in 1978 were the Bee Gees who were the biggest group of the 1970's and the 39th biggest hit this week in 1978 belonged to Elton John, who was the biggest solo act of the 1970's.

"My words" often do appear on Elton's most "underrated or unknown" music videos.I seldom seek to comment on Elton's more popular music videos, because*I, myself, am not like the rest,* neither was *Elton John* himself.I often drew much needed energy, inspiration, and 'incredible high' that only *That Voice* could provide for me, no matter the song, or occasion.

I remember all too well, even unto this day, "Carol's eyes" -- she was having an epileptic seizure in the junior high hallway. Oh, I was nearly "terrified to death" to say the least, and could never remove the images. I never really knew how to talk to Carol after that event. But through it all, a constant drum kept pounding within my head, over and over again. I wanted little part of school-work, or associated nightmares in the dark alone. I kept counting the precious seconds it took to get back home to my pocket radio, until I finally found *Ego* playing on WPGC, Washington D.C.It was the "drum and high" needed to calm my quaking nerves as an 11 year old child.

This song sums up Elton in a nutshell. Ironic! It's one of his better singles and reminds me of Queen.

the song Ego backed by Flintestone boy(a song elton actually wrote the lyrics too and when you hear it you will understand why Bernie writes them) was orginally a one off single ( not on an album) but later added to compilation releases..
