Elton John and Bernie Taupin most certainly wrote this song. Leslie Duncan wrote "Love Song" and was properly credited.

I always find interesting, when I care to scroll down, the comments concerning things I watch on the ever amazing YouTube (I am 63 yrs old, and have seen such an evolution over time. YouTube is amazing! In Wonderful Ways, Thank you, youtubepeople, we can never, in money or comments, tell you how mind boggling youtube is, sirs and madams). The diversity of opinion and the attitudes are not to be taken for granted. YouTube is you and I, and I love however we differ, girls and boys. Different POV's (points of view), however crass or illuminating ARE illuminating, people. Don't worry about if someone disagrees with you, please find it interesting, instead. I mean it. And, as to this song of Elton's....I enjoyed the comments again. Please keep it coming.

Elton simple and sweet at his finest- what a team him and Bernie Taupin as songwriters- this is one of the most beautiful pieces he has preformed.

According to Wikipedia, Leslie Duncan wrote the song entitled "Love Song" that is found on side 2 of Tumbleweed Connection. She is not listed as the writer of the song "Come Down in Time," found on side 1 of that album.

Mostly due to throat surgery. He is thankful he can still sing at all.
