This is when I got into Elton John, in 1970! I bought a bootleg of a concert. The vinyl wz like 4 inches thick and the recording LOUSY!! I loved that record, played on my little stereo I got with my moms' S & H stamps.

Check out the 18+ minute version of Burn Down the Mission/My Baby Left Me/Get Back on the 11/17/70 live album - even better and tighter

This is music in it's pure form. Just incredible, moving beautiful melody.

The mission is the large record label companies that milk the artists and buyers for all they can get. They force the artists to follow what they think will sell, instead of what they are good at. And they make stars out of bad singers, like for example, well you know a few, right? Read the book, the Mansion on the Hill.

@CoyotePoet this was NOT a wig! Back in 1970, Elton had just turned 23yrs old in March...yes, this was his real hair at this time frame believe it or not! lol :)

Dee was incredible. Elton never was the same after he fired the band (either time). And yeah, I'm tired of the gay hammer too.

First off, who are you responding to, since it's not exactly clear? Secondly, they're Bernie's words, not Elton's. Finally, are you implying that the life of an average person is somehow less valuable than that of a pop music musician? And whether someone 'delved' or not is hardly relevant. Oh, and Elton was never as good without Dee, Nigel and Davey.
