This is fabulous -- thank you for posting it! Always loved the Shades of Blue version, never heard this before, never even knew that Edwin Starr wrote this until 5 minutes ago when I was brought here on a link from the S of B song. The best thing about THIS recording is that he enunciates all the words clearly & I finally get all of them. :-)

I just learned that Edwin Starr wrote this song. I love Edwin Starr but never heard him do this. Only the Shades of Blue version which I always loved. (and just now, I heard the version the Skyliners did in 1977). Anyhow, thank you so much for uploading this song. I really enjoyed Edwin's version too.
