Marvellous. The man only got better! Listen to his later version. Maybe the voice doesn't have quite the range but it had grown in sonority and the interpretation has also deepened.

Summer, 1968, Pensacola, FL, and Ed Ames appearing for an "Operation Entertainment" show. While waiting for the stage hands to take care of sound & lighting, Ed was just sitting on the edge of the stage talking to us sailors and asked if there was anything we wanted to hear. He just said, "How about this one?" and broke into "My Cup Runneth Over".... accappella! Even with no instrumental backup, the richness of his voice blew us away; gave me goose bumps.I still have his 45rpm version.

Lovely melody, nice voice - phrasing on the 'love' bit is really ragged, though. What's with that? Nobody noticed?

You ever notice that when you heard a song like this when you were young, you dismissed it as garbage and now it is like a treasure, at least to me.
