@ Bridget Barkan I believe your dad also wrote Manfred Mann's Pretty Flamingo. That, and I'll Try Anything are great songs. You must be truly proud of your father's talent.

The late Brtish comedian Bob Monkhouse once joked that Dusty's backing singer Madeilene Bell also drove the muscara lorry.

She was so beautiful in this special. The hair, her eyes, the gowns. I love the way she moves.

Wonderful lady & wonderful voice...what a shame she batted for the other side :-(

It's a little melodramatic and brash - "I'll throw out my morals just to take you away from somebody else." Don't get me wrong, if I ignore the content of the lyrics, the song really delivers a bucket full of raw emotion.

I was a senior in high school in 1967/68. I heard this on the radio in the midwest and fell in love with it straight away! Bought a couple of copies of it and played them to death! I have never seen this show. What a terrific performance!!! I was just sick when I heard that in 1999, on the news, she had died. A piece of all of us died that day! I wish that Doris Day would have gotten into more pop then. Too bad her recording contract ended and she didn't pursue it with other companies!

I'm pretty sure she does sing the alphabet in 'do ri me' from her 'a girl called dusty' album

Sorry but had to log on to respond to the previous comment. Know it's a matter of opinion, but 'song ain't the best'? It blows me away every time I hear it. What the 60s was all about in two minutes.

The way she glided through the intro with the little dance and empty glare was too perfect. The song ain't the best but she makes sure you stay interested. BTW, I heard this the other day at an antique store here in Atlanta, so good to know the lesser known tracks are still played and cherished. Certainly not radio, probably Musiak. I loved it.
