On this day in 1958 {December 26th} Duane Eddy performed "Cannonball" at the Apollo Theater in Harlem in N.Y.C.At the time the song was at #31 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; and thirty-two days earlier on November 24th, 1958 it peaked at #15 {for 1 week} and spent 12 weeks on the Top 100...It reached #22 on Billboard's R&B Singles chart...Was track five of side one on his debut album, 'Have 'Twangy' Guitar Will Travel'...Four other tracks from the album also made the Top 100 chart; "Moovin' N' Groovin" {#72}, "Rebel Rouser" {#6}, "Ramrod" {#27}, and "The Lonely One" {#23}...Duane Eddy will celebrate his 77th birthday in four months on April 26th {2015}...
