Hi; i have several of their albums and have lost one. there is a song on there i'd like to have again and i thought you might tell me the name of the song and what album it was on. all i can remember of it is the line......goodbye bowl weevil, i know you got my ........and the birds done got my corn" The chorus may have been..."'pans of biscuits, bowls of gravy; pans of biscuits we shall have". Anyone know this? thank you!

Byrd in the morning, Bluegrass at night. When they lower me down in that sweet Georgia ground, have someone play Dixie for me.

We do this song every Thursday at a jam in Gulfport, Mississippi at the Bluegrass Cabin. David Wade sings it, I provide harmony, then we play "Dixie" slowly then fast on the banjos.

Arguably the best live version of this tune on Youtube. Very authentic sounding from a singing and instrumental perspective. Further, when this group sings this song, they sound as if they are singing the words as they know the fellow returning from the camp up north!!

Video from 1993? I saw DBFS many times in the 1970s/1980s in Connecticut and not since. Though I couldn't tell if that looked like Ron Thomason after all these years, I recognized his voice right off. The Johnson Mountain Boys is another band that I saw in the same places, but I know they broke up about 1988.

DBFS is a great group. First song I heard by them was "Auction at the Homeplace."
