Again from the brilliant album of 'Another Place And Time' comes this hit by Ms Summer, another favourite of mine and proving why she is in my opinion one of the most successful female artists of all time. Not just all about the disco with her.

Copyrights/Ownership of any sort in relation to this do not belong to myself.

Edited: 17/5/2012, Donna Summer passed on at the age of 63 due to cancer. This song will be now here in memory of her. Rest In Peace Donna, sleep well :( x x

@Maurice Rivers... If you are talking about the US market Donna had been black-balled in US radio since 1984 (because of alleged homophobic statements)....When ACTUP formed in March of 1987, they really went after her picketing her concerts, they cause a riot at the 1989 Gay Pride event in Boston. They gay community had always been divided on the issue - but you were hard pressed to here her music in the clubs. The only reason TTIKIFR radio air play was because it was on the playlist - being that it was a huge hit in Europe. The follow up single didn't get played. I think it was in the hot 100 for like 3 weeks. The lack of attention it received was of the black balling. None of her 80's albums were disco...this was a dance has she had gotten since the disco day. But also SAW reputation in American wasn't good, they were not viewed as serious music men or musicians. They were viewed as suits that made music.

This album deserved far more publicity and attention than in received. It was overlooked and ignored, probably because people expected more disco and the not the fantastic SAW production she hit them with. The album cover image (Donna as a modern geisha) probably turned people off, too: they either didn't expect something so artistic from her, or they got scared and didn't bother to listen to the album at all. She was clearly having fun on this album, bringing life to the SAW backing tracks. The only ballad on the album, "In Another Place and Time", is a real standout.

The difference between the other SAW productions was quite simply Donna. The production is typical...the song writing is solid and great pop music. Her voice is what set it apart !

OK, which SAW fans wouldn't like a PWL Leona Lewis album, to fit in with Donna, Princess, Lonnie and Mel & Kim?Of course, you can always pretend and listen top Release Me by Agnes, which looks and sounds much like the above...

SAW wrote a second album for Donna, but she finally did not make it, for reasons unknown. But Lonnie Gordon stepped into Donna's shoes, and the result was similarly satisfying.

This is the BEST album the great Donna Summer ever recorded. Every song on the album is classic. It should have won the Grammy for "Album of the Year". I was lucky enough to see her live a couple of years ago and I'm SO grateful I did. She was incredible!! Thank you for the joy you gave me Donna. I will ALWAYS miss you.

I remember that Donna Summer had such a time with this album and her record label at time Geffen did not want to release it
