Many of the tracks on 1980's The Wanderer picked up where 1979's Bad Girls left off - dance-rock witha disco 4-on-the-floor that was right in line with what Pat Benatar was doing. Aside from the album's title track, it seemed that from here in, rather than being a leader, Donna was now playing catch-up on the charts.

The tragedies of 1980 aside (the lesson being NEVER let str8 people determine pop culture - do you know how many AC/DC songs I had to suffer through on the dancefloor?!?!) here is an extended version of one of the non-hit album tracks.

Great job! One of my favorite tracks of hers. Donna Summer was always expected to fit a certain mold and stick to it. She was a pop singer first and foremost. That nobody seemed to understand that still baffles me today. She surely was way, way ahead of her time and whether her post-Disco era recordings went to the top of the charts or not, gems like "Forgive Me" and this beautiful song you remixed have stood the test of time because they are and will always be great songs. Thanks 4 posting it.

i consider "the wanderer" to be donna's only rock album and one of her best albums. it was when she proved to the world that she could do way more than disco/dance

Another great mix, Chris - an album with lots of great pop/rock/dance sensibilities. She was such a pioneer - I hope history is kind to her. She had an unbeatable streak from 1976 to 1984 with back to back hits singles and albums. The Wanderer was a strange hybrid, but Nightlife, looking up, who do you think you're fooling and the title track redeemed it. Nice work!
