You are correct about the picture being taken at WNOX in Knoxville (it was around 1952). I used this picture simply because my grandfather and Don are both in it. My grandfather recorded with Don on a majority of his late 50's to 1971 recordings too.

I cannot say when the pic was taken but I can tell you it was taken in Knoxville TN.. The sign behind the group says WNOX MID-DAY MERRY GO ROUND . A live daily radio show from atop the Andrew Johnson hotel in Knoxville...The M.C. was Lowell Blanchard. I read somewhere that the hotel guests used to complain about the drunk, sleeping performers in the hallways.
