Pre-Women's Lib song, why all the F---in Fuss?! Great melody, bet lyricist Hal David would do a double take if he thought about all the fuss this song created, maybe that was his point :) wink

Exploitation at it's finest, but it's still a great little song that's been sung by some of the greats. ;0)

This song isn't about woman being forced to worry about their appearance constantly. It's about making an effort to show your man you care. Just like women like it when guys buy flowers or plan dates. I almost never wear makeup, I HATE dresses and my husband adores me because I do dress up for him, he's worth it.

This is one of those weird happy bouncy songs that becomes pretty disturbing if you actually listen to it--the lyrics basically say, "Worry, worry, worry about your appearance constantly; make sure your are beautiful enough to compete with all the other women your man is probably looking at all day; if you don't always wear makeup and carry out the practices of femininity sufficiently well, your man will leave; love is contingent on you hanging onto beauty. Wow, talk about insecurity inducing!
