Great version! I have also recently heard Stevie Wonder performing this tune at the White House - superb! It's on youtube, and don't miss the Celia Black version; she brings a deep, deep understanding and performance of the lyric. I think it's my overall favorite.

Cilla Black did not have the artistic sensibilities to understand or recognize this song to be the timeless musical masterpiece it undeniably is.She ridiculed the song because of the name Alfie and almost didn't do the song.She set high conditionalities for doing the song and Burt Bacharach bent over backwards to meet those conditionalities.If Cilla Black had only sat down and read the lyrics without any name bias, she would have realized how profound a song this really was.She lacked the humility and open mindedness of a true artist at that point in time.
