Musically, this is superior to the original. The guitar work is awesome and the production is way better. But Dio did much better on the original. Kerry should have kept the original vocals and worked the new music around them. Dio was at his prime in the early 80s when he was with Sabbath.

The truth speaks for itself, it's like a lion, you don't stand and defend it, you get out of its way. Time is short, it isn't about religiosity, it's about the condition of your heart. Not how many times you've said hail Mary, or even done good deeds. "For I am the way, the truth and the life....and no one gets to the father but through me." -Jesus Christit's simple, renounce hate, renounce unforgiveness, and accept Jesus Christ into your heart, repent, turn from sin, love your neighbor, and that my friends will be the beginning of miraculous change, peace and joy and you'll find yourself in the greatest relationship ever. We can only hope Dio took the correct path to the father. We'll all find out one day soon, and if you haven't taken the correct path yourself by then, it's too late.

There was a lot of spiritual searching and experimenting going on (just read both Livgren and Dio's lyrics.... both deal heavily with spiritual matters - the same for Geezer Butler who was the primary lyricist for Black Sabbath prior to Dio's joining, and Bob Daisley, who was in Rainbow with Dio prior to joining and writing lyrics and songs for, Ozzy Osbourne after he left Black Sabbath.)So Kerry Livgren most likely was dabbling in things that could be called "Black Magic", just as tons of other people were. Astral Projection, Seances, Spiritual Channeling, Automatic Writing - all of those fall into the Black Magick category, and Kerry was into the "The Urantia Book" at the time.

"This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Tim. 2:3-4)."The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward YOU, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance" (2 Pet. 3:9).

For the pinheads on here saying Dio didn't get into heaven, you have, as often, missed the point. Ronnie James Dio believed one makes one's own "heaven" whilst living, barring the instances when the actions of others prevent it (i.e., slavery, child abuse, etc., etc.). When he died, he simply died, living on through music and memory.I may disagree with others, but at least I'm not going to tell them they're going to burn alive for eternity for not invoking the name of some god, whilst I conduct my life like a smug arrogant asshole.

Actually Shawn, there were three albums from the 80's. Time Line, Art of the State, & Reconstructions, which was re-released as Reconstructions Reconstructed. Whichever one you don't have, they're available on Amazon.com. Highly recommend! Also, Kerry's later solo albums from the 90's, Prime Mover and When Things Get Electric are awesome. God bless!
