i highly recommend listening to all dep albums in their entirety first and then you can go back and pick your favs but they are meant to be works of art as a whole... all albums are great, just depends on your mood... but yes if you like these guys then converge is next in line... if they ever played a show together i would do bad things to get tickets and i would bring a cyanide capsule to take right as it ends... not really but you get the point

They build up a real suspense. I wouldn't be able to believe that they don't put so much thought and depth into these songs - there's an emphasis on just the sound alone without needing the whole band or genre image which can only come from people who have questions. They're not just thrown together. Awesome band.

the closest thing is widower from option paralysis and it itself is fairly different, other than that nothing is like this and on their newest album there are no soft/prog songs with big piano parts.
