This song is made by one the greatest crooners of all time. I think this song is released somewhere in the 50's. Dick Haymes is like Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin there where never two of them during their living years and there was never be after their death and there will never be for the future. I dare someone to tell me i'm wrong.

Dick Haymes had the most masculine, smoothest baritone ever. And the lyrics to this famous song are so beautiful, "a tinkling piano in the nest apartment", "a fairground's painted swings" - what beautiful images. It was written in 1936 by two Englishmen and was played in several English movies, especialy during the war. A classic .

15 years... I've heard this song for 15 years (sans words) at Disney Hollywood Studios as part of the background music on Hollywood Blvd/Sunset Blvd and until tonight, I didn't know the name of the song or that it actually had words.

@fredb49 Well not exactly, He didn't serve during the war because he was an Argentinian, he got in some trouble after the war because he hadn't re registered. He had to go back to Argentina and start all over again.. It pretty much ruined his career

Though he is from my parents era; he has the best melodic and bel canto voice I have ever heard. Simply, rich and thick; like honey oozing down the side of an old oak tree.

Beautiful voice. I was raised on this music. Mel Torme' is my favorite male vocalist; however, Dick Haymes is right up there at the top of my list. I was born in the 1940s....my mom bought the album which contained this song, and I loved to listen to it.

such a voice, my father(a singer himself) introduced me to this man's fabulous voice when I was a teenager. Years later, Haymes passed away and my father cried when he told .

This is the best music. Frank and Dick are the best. Today's generations don't know what they missed. The music stinks and the singers can't sing!
