On March 26, 1971, My best friend gave me a plaque with this poem on it. I still cherish it, although it's a little battered over the years. Thank you for this you tube. Greatly appreciated.

Does anyone know how to contact the composer, Fred Werner? He has responded to me and I to his response, but I need to contact him directly. I'm not sure how to do it through his youtube tagg! If someone could contact him on my behalf and have him read my responses here or contact me on youtube, that would be appreciated!

Charming, and uplifting. It reminds me of the Joni Mitchell song - "we are stardust, we are golden"......Thank you for M.O. for pointing out this song to me. :)

You are a child of the universe,no less than the trees and the stars, you have a right to be here, and whether or not it is clear to you,no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should...

On this day in 1971 {December 25th} Les Crane performed "Desiderata" on the ABC-TV program 'American Bandstand'...At the time the song was at #35 on Billboard's Hot Top 100 chart; three weeks earlier on November 28th, 1971 it had peaked at #8 {for 1 week} and spent 12 weeks on the Top 100...It reached #4 on the Canadian RPM 100 Singles chart...

"the universe is unfolding as it should" is such a creepy line. Better would be the "universe is unfolding as it must".

One of the wisest prose on the planet! I refer to this time and time again in my blog; "Elias Leousis, The Substitute Teacher". A basic foundation for me in all aspects of life.
