Country music and Gospel music have always been a good fit...

...many Country artists have recorded at least one Gospel album...and, even today, you have Brad Paisley including a Christian track on each of his CDs.

One song which many artists have included on their albums is this one...it has been recorded by George Jones, Porter Wagoner, Daniel O'Donnel, Merle Haggard, Bonnie Owens, Bill Monroe...the list goes on.

This version, by Del Reeves comes from Del's 1967 LP "The Little Church In The Dell".

(I'm not sure whether that title was meant to be a play on words, or not).

Listening to this track, I can't help but notice some vocal similarities to George Jones' recordings from the same era.
