I'm very much into prog, hell it's what I enjoy most now a days, but Veil of Maya (band) got me into Cynic and a bunch of other prog bands and I will always listen to them because of that reason I guess. If some one wants to be a duche to me about my taste and how I got into the bands I listen to today then they can fuck off.

The band is talented, dude. Marc writes beautiful and original riffs. Way different than what any other band could write in today's metal. If you aren't into them that's cool, but they aren't a bunch of talentless new fags like you seem to ignorantly think they are.

Just to add in on this, I thought their ID album seemed to be a little bit Cynic like, but of course with Veil of Maya tones. Anyways have to agree with you about the vocalist though. Brandon needs to step his game up.

I think it would be cool, and most people should be open to it. Then again I do like very diverse sounding bands but Veil of Maya would sound much better even if they got someone who could scream better and not just do lows and highs.

You see the issue with that is that all of the current fans would not appreciate Veil of Maya drastically changing their sound like that. I wouldn't mind hearing some singing in Veil of Maya's music, but at the same time I'm also perfectly content with their current sound. Cynic on the other hand is incredibly complex compositions with a jazzy, mysterious sound to it.
