Album: Traced in Air (2008)

Genre: Technical Death Metal, Jazz-fusion

Memory, thunder cloud

Sadi, Sati, killing down

Starved at the root again

We don't taste the air

Mother tongue

Om shrim maha

Lakshmiyei swama om

Vibrate (inner) universe

Primal sate (counsels)

To the unknown guest

Penniless, in reverse

A pathless land

Where we touch Earth

Dark at the bloom again

We don't see the dawn

Mother tongue

Om shrim maha

Lakshmiyei swama om

Vibrate (inner) universe

Primal state (counsels)

To the unknown guest

Pulsate

Starved at the root again

We don't taste the air

Dark at the bloom again

We hold our despair

Mama tongue

Om shrim maha

Lakshmiyei swama om

Vibrate (inner) universe

timeless state (counsels)

To the unknown guest

Pulsate (silent) universe

Mantra's grace

Om

@theguitarchiefOm Shrim Maha Lakshmiyei Swaha(pron. OM SHREEM MAH-HA LAKSH-MEE-YEI SHAH-HA).This is the quintessential Sanskrit mantra for abundance! Shrim is the seed sound for abundance along with the goddess Lakshmi. Swaha is the divine feminine which is representative of receiving.

@Dylan Williams I never said otherwise in that sense. You haven't understood what I was getting at.

You can like any kind of music for whatever kind of reason you want. It's not up to you to decide how people should like things and why they should.. :\

Lol how is he being ignorant ? You're a fuckin idiot. He respects bands for their technical styles, technical is usually hard.. I dont see any reason he cant like a band for being technical ? .. But i still dont see how these guys sound Periphery.. Lol

None is better, obviously cynic has better vocals, but in the rest they're both equal, and i've seen them both live and the two of them made incredible performances

To me, technicality is something that can horribly ruin music and make it become irritating, but it's a good bonus if it's combined with music in a way that doesn't minus any musical elements, a perfect example being Death's "The Sound of Perseverance". When a band focuses more on technicality like those bands you've listed, it just becomes a boring showcase of "Oh look how good we are", rather than something you'd listen to because you like it.

Cynic sounds most similar to Atheist than anything else.

There's nothing wrong with respecting bands for their technicality. There are a number of bands that I don't like but who I respect technically. Between the buried and me, Periphery, Protest the hero for example. I don't think they make good music but I respect how good they are at their instruments and how much work they put into their songs.

'Cynic was technical before technical was cool' Truest statement of the century! Got the 92 demos from before Focus, was on par with most Uniqueleader bands todau

What's wrong with respecting a bands technical ability? I look at bands like Dying Fetus and Origin, and despite not being a fan of them I can still respect them for being so proficient and skilled with their instruments. Not to mention, I can respect their success in the underground worlds.
