OMG first time I heard this song it surprised the hell out of me and blew me away. I was listening to it at high volume in my car and was in a very chill mood. Then 02:52 came in and I immediately turned the volume down but realized how awesome it sounded and then turned it back up. Such an epic climax to an awesome song. I've long been a fan of hardcore but a recent Cursive can and that was such a welcome change of pace to my ears. Probably the heaviest Cursive has ever been.

What Cursive does has always been at least partially rooted in punk and maybe even post-hardcore influences as well. Can't really say I would label anything they've ever done as "heavy hardcore" though lol. Sorry I know labels aren't that important and I don't really place that much value on them but it's just kind of funny to hear that said about Cursive. :P
