Watch World War Three (On Pay TV): The Crown City Four [1960]

Watch World War III on pay TV

Television can be such a thrill

Sitting home in your chair

Watch the boys over there

Charging across your TV screen

Getting blowen to smithereens

Watch World War III on pay TV

If you want to keep the kids at home

They'll be glued to their sets

Watching rockets and jets

Blowing up schools and factories

Putting an end to the birds and bees

It's worth every penny to tune in and see

Who wins the Emmy

At the ruins of the Academy

Watch World War III on pay TV

Before your television melts away

Think of the close-ups on the screen

Find a face you know

Isn't this better than Bishop Sheen?

Better than the Late, Late Show?

Watching the boys from your home town

Fighting whoever they are

Watching the cities falling down

It's greater than Jack Paar!

They're out setting up the cameras now

Though they don't know just where

Still they've got to prepare

Murrow's there to do his part

Waiting for the war to start

See the hydrogen bomb explode

As those mushrooms appear

You'll be sipping your beer

Zooming in with the Zoomar lens

Watching while the whole world ends

It's worth every penny

To tune in and see

Who wins the Emmy

At the ruins of the Academy

Watch World War III on pay TV

Before your television melts away

Before your television melts away

This channel is fantastic. I just discovered it, though I've loved these songs for decades. I agree with the masses, this and the rest of the playlist absolutely must be in the new fallout game. If it isn't, I will personally mod it in as a custom radio station.

One of the men in this barber shop quartet "The Crown City Four" lived across the street and up the hill from me in Pasadena, California. my brother still has the LP (33-1/3 RPM) ... Pay TV was still just a concept, and so is WWIII. And yes, Doctor Demento played all the songs off this record on his show, they were all parodies. The "Demented One" broadcast his show on KPPC-FM, that was located in the basement of the Pasadena Presbyterian Church. I used to drop by and sit outside his glass enclosure and watch him present the radio show. He had (and still does, I am sure) a huge collection of all kinds of humorous music, on all kinds of records....78's 45's and LPs. His studio assistant that ran and got the records that might be needed (he took requests on the phone) was none other than Weird Al Yankovich! He had not made any of his own parodies yet, so he was still unknown in the musical/comedy world. If he did, the Doctor played it, he promoted Weird Al, put him on the map. "kulage200" - it's "Music Hall" style of music. early 1900's, this was written in 1960. Other people that continued to write in this style are Spike Jones and his Firehouse Five, Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Monty Python's Show and Benny Hill to name a few. It is funny, wild music. Burlesque.

@CivilDefenseSpot You mention in your comment how much North Korea spends on military, but it seems to me appropriate to mention that South Korea (as direct facilitator for the US role in the still continuing Korean war) still spends three times more on all the war exercises at the border...

I'm not sure how threatened I should be by all of it, North Korea is a country that spent so much money on it's military that there's hardly any left for food. He'd have to be suicidal to make a move against South Korea and/or the US but you never know with these psychopaths.

After reading the news about the situation in Korea I was reminded of this.

No problem, I'm glad to see there are still a handful of people out there that can appreciate these oldies. Bit late reply but I don't check this account very much anymore
