Russia, Russia (Lay That Missile Down): Prescott Reed [1958]

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

Russia, Russia, must you always frown?

Don't get tough now, that's enough now

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

Russia, Russia, love that samovar

And your blintzes, borscht and caviar

And your music, and your dancing

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

We'll compete with you in any sport

Be glad to meet with you and have a snort

Come to a movie, or a ballgame

And listen to Van Cliburn when he plays Tchaikovsky

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

Come and visit us in our home town

Have some Wheaties, don't be meanies

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

We'll compete with you in any sport

Be glad to meet with you and have a snort

Come to a movie, or a ballgame

And listen to Van Cliburn when he plays Tchaikovsky

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

Come and visit us in our hometown

Have some Wheaties, don't be meanies

Russia, Russia, lay that missile down

If the Russia would lay their missiles, the americans would come riding their bald eagles shitting freedom all over the place... We don't want that to happen, now do we?

"A snort" usually referred to a drink of alcohol, especially whisky, but it's a phrase that's rarely used anymore. They used to say it in MASH, which was set during the Korean War, for example.

No problem, its not really a common expression anyway.

Thank you for that! English isn't my first language and I tend to mix up things like that.

I hope the most people know, that your side was not the aggressive nation in the cold war. but: this song is one of the liberal ones of this time. so.... lay your missiles down :)
