Cream - Sweet Wine live at Royal Albert Hall, London.

May 2, 3, 5, 6. 1080p

9 of 22

In May of 2005 Cream returned to London's Royal Albert Hall-to the same stage where they had completed what was thought to be their final performance in 1968. It was one of the most eagerly anticipated, hard-to-get tickets in rock history. With the exception of a brief reunion set at their 1993 induction into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame, Cream had not played together in nearly four decades. This DVD documents Cream's momentous London shows. Performances from each of the four nights are featured and much more. Also included are alternate performances and interviews with Ginger Baker, Jack Bruce, and Eric Clapton. Cream formed in 1966 and disbanded in 1968. The band were a prolific and thrilling live act and toured incessantly in their short but remarkable history.

Music is a profession where it's quite normal to perform into your 70s or even 80s. Many classical pianists and violinists and jazz players did so, We don't expect it from rockers because the music started out as youth culture music, but these guys can still play. The one area where old age gets in the way is singing, but Cream where never exactly operatic.

I've been reading these comments about "old farts",etc...,rather humorous; these guys still get the last laugh! Think about this:3 musicians who are 60+years old, haven't even played together in 37 years...,selling out the Albert Hall for 4 nights in a row! They captivate still the audience...,3 elderly gents riveting the attention of several thousand people for 2+hours!! Who else could pull this off??

Audiance is in awe, that was just beautiful.Clapton's Strat solo was just orgasmic.

Hey asshole, you just referred to the 20th century masters of rock and roll as old farts. That's not funny, that's actually offensive. Btw all these old blues and rock musicians are gonna keep playing their guitar until the day they die. Look at B.B. King and Jeff Beck, they can pull off a more masterful solo now than they could 20 years ago.

How awesome is this. In their 60's, Cream still rocks like hell. However, Clapton playing that Strat is always a bit odd to me (I know its been years). Would love to see him with a Gibson again. Hell, Eric Johnson plays Gibsons on occasion (LOL). Even so, this is great.
