This is Confederate Railroad's excellent cover to Lynyrd Skynyrd's song "Simple Man." The song couldn't have been better written. To me, it's the one of the best covers of the song, I've ever heard.
This song is from the Skynyrd Frynds Tribute to Lynyrd Skynyrd CD. It was released through MCA records in 1996. It has artists such as Hank Williams Jr., Alabama, Wynonna Judd, Steve Earle, Charlie Daniels, and Travis Tritt on it...

I have never heard this cover before,but DAMN I love it....Lynyrd Skynyrd is my all time favorite band, but Danny Shirley and the Confederate Railroad are close on favorites as well......Imagine the show if you will.....Sawyer Brown,Confederate Railroad,Brooks and Dunn,Garth Brooks,Lynyrd Skynyrd,Trace Atkins,George Strait and Travis Tritt, all in one weekend and all closed out by Toby Keith......my dream country concert weekend !9 years ago

Don't be frettin' if when you play this tune it just don't sound right. This song is tuned down half a step...I use my tuner, but I find if you put a capo on the first fret, tune it to regular E, then take the capo off, it sounds closer. I don't know why.11 years ago
