I used to look a bit like him.:)

I think this is the only version of the OGWT version without additions.

Thanks CTW for the simple melodies and the wonderful use of the English language. I am so grateful that I was around to be enriched by all of your memorable songs. I bet you'd have a been a whizz on Countdown...I modelled myself on you too; the long hair, the cheesecloth shirts, the loons and high-heeled boots. How I yearn for those insouciant times... I miss you, I really do. JE

One of the prettiest songs ever. What a superb melody and story. Well done Cliff! I wish I had written this song. It would the proudest moment of my life. I bought this on vinyl when it came out. Great work.

Plenty of teenage 'adventures' were had accompanied by a record or cassette of T playing as the soundtrack. 'Where would that lead me?' never failed to have the desired effect. Without CTW's songs my young life might have been very different. Along with Deep Purple, Pink Floyd etc, it was considered to be ok to have T's records in your collection. Still much loved and missed.

Masterful and totally original. Not heard it for nearly forty years since it was played to death on radio one when I was a teenager. It sounds better than I remember it.

This is how I still look at the love of my life as she prepares a Sunday dinner or just an evening meal with our children and grandchildren causing a riot. When I listened to this song as a teenager I hoped I would meet someone who would make me feel like that. I DID :-) RIP Clifford, the Alan Bennett unsung genius of lyrics!
