Well, Chris is trying to sound like Ozzy here, and in my opinion, Alice is a better singer than Ozzy. But to tell you the truth, Alice Cooper and Chris Cornell are my two favorite vocalists. Chris' voice was a lot better in '94 than Alice's was. Alice sounded best '71-'76, and Cornell's sounded best '90-'94. But yeah. I like the final version by the Coop better.

@halfassmonkeyboy318 why should he use a drum machine? Cornell was orginally Soundgardens vocalist AND drummer, i've heard demos of songs with him on drums, he's a perfectly capable drummer.

@soundslave that's because it's a demo. amazing song though i really wish soundgarden had done it properly on an album

This song along with Stolen Prayers were both originally written by Chris Cornell for Ozzy Osbourne. Instead they ended up being recorded by Alice Cooper. I would venture to guess that this recording is circa 1989-1992 but take into account that this was probably done on a 4 track demo which is why the song is how it is. And Since this wasnt a Soundgarden project more than likely Chris played all the instruments and used a drum machine just to keep time.

If I remember correctly Cornell wrote this for Cooper right? He sung back ups on this and another song for Cooper. (the finalized Cooper versions of course).

This sounds ealrier than the mid-90s. The rough sound of the bass is closer to the Screaming life sessions like the song Hunted Down. And Cornells vocals have more of the Sabbath sound to them like early SG, before the realease of Badmotorfinger. But it's a good song, wonder if it has ever been played live.
