Pas forcément une des chansons les plus gaies de Mr Sting, mais certainement une de mes préférées...Un texte très fort sur un sujet qui ne l'est pas moins (le sacrifice de notre jeunesse). Not necessarily the most joyful song by Sting, but surely one of my favourite...Powerful lyrics about a very important subject ...

Still a sensational tune by sting, timeless and even more true to life now than it ever was then, be lucky people, life is just too short

I think this song is marvelous. It's a sweet and soft song with a powerful message and homage to those lost in WWI. So many powerful lyrics in just this song alone, and yet the sax in the chorus gives me the feeling to celebrate the lives lost, not mourn them.

PJ Bowman, how are you aware of this type of music? you look like you are my age (14) when this album came out. No Beyonce-ape, Jzee, Beat your wife and kill people "ebonics rap", Some sort of a lady gaga noise? You parents must have exposed you to 1980's music.

Too bad The Modern Brits and Americans are allowing themselves to be slaves to oligarchs....all of those young lives betrayed by Opulent sociopaths in power today..all those lives sacrificed for the idea of liberty and freedom and the British american way of life slowly eroding away those gains to be nothing but economic slaves to bankers and fraudsters and rich Children crusaders sick with power... Poppy's being harvested in record numbers and controlled and managed by CIA and military personnel..All of the young lives STILL BETRAYED

"Trapped on the wire and dying in waves"I have listened to this song since 1985 and that phrase always makes my spine tingle.

Children's Crusade - Sting 1985hildren’s crusade (The dream of the blue turtles,1985)L’andatura dondolante della strofa è già notevole, ma il ritornello che va su e giù è ancora meglio: vien voglia di dirigere qualcuno, un’orchestra, un quartetto, Otto e Barnelli. Il sassofono è Brandford Marsalis.
