Here's A Great Song From Chicago That Almost Never Gets Any Airplay. From Their Chicago XI Album, "Little One" Features The Lead Vocals Of The Late Terry Kath. With The Death Of Kath, Many Say This LP Was A Turning Point For Their Career. It Would Be The Last Album Produced By Longtime Producer James William Guercio. "Little One" Is A Beautiful Jazzy Ballad That Was Written By Drummer Danny Seraphine And Only Made It To #44 On The USA "Hot 100" Chart In 1978.

Chicago will always be a great group to listen to, and will always be on my classical list. Thank you so very much for sharing.

I have always admired the quality of Columbia Records recordings. Chicago's records have always sounded like they were respected by the production team. Very high quality.

Puts chills down your spine when you realize this is the last song on the last album Terry Kath would ever do.

I've always loved this song. Now as a dad I listen to this song and think about my 4 year old little girl.

1978 - Terry Kath died after accidentally shooting himself in the head with a pistol he didn't know was loaded. This occurred 8 days before his 32nd birthday.#dapimusic #mymusichangout #softrock #chicago #terrykath #singersongwriter #guitarist

Sorry I mistyped the longest sentence. There are some groups that are in the RRHOF that SHOULDN'T even be in the RRHOF trash can. There, that's better.

Yeah, the RRHOF is a joke. Considering all of the criteria that people would think should put someone in that group there are some groups that should even be in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame TRASH CAN. And then what's with the 9th album being shown when this song is from the 11th album? I mean c'mon.......it's a major tragedy......(8^)

Agreed, today, they are but a cover band, with the exception of Robert Lamm. When he performs songs that he did the lead on originally, it's not a cover. Unfortunately most of the latter hits were sung by Kath and Cetera. Both gone, so even when original group member Robert Lamm sings Colour My World, it's still a cover.

The song was written by Danny Seraphine and Dave 'Hawk' Wolinski. We know that at least Danny was able to keep the promise of the lyrics he wrote, it was so unfortunate that Terry couldn't keep the promise of the lyrics he sang.

I think that the reason this song was released so quickly after Terry's death was for two reasons. One, Terry was on lead vocal. Two, the irony of the lyrics saying he would always be there for his little one, then accidentally dying and leaving his little two year old girl without a father.

Chicago, as a group, died with the passing of TK and departures of PC and DS...today they are no more than a polished lounge band

Lesilie Bell you said it my friend. I saw Chicago 3 years ago in South Korea. It was funny because the Korean's favorite songs where not always the ones we in America loved the best. But the Koreans did Rock. Then I had an opportunity to meet the band afterwards. It took me over 30 years from the first album bought until I finally saw them live. It WAS GREAT!!!

I saw Chicago at the 1977 Houston concert in the then new Summit Arena. This is the song that was used to start their performance. Much of the beginning of the song was orchestral and isn't including in this video. Imagine the arena darkened and as the crowd's anticipation grows, the recorded orchestral portion plays. During this time, the band members make it to their places. Then, as Kath sings, the set lights including the logo come up and the crowd erupts. It was magical!
