IN THE MOOD skladba skupiny CHICAGO z albumu NIGHT AND DAY z roku 1995 v ktorej spievali Bill Champlin, Jason Scheff a Robert Lamm.Autorom tejto pôvodne inštrumentálnej skladby bol Joe Garland (1903-1977) Prvý krát ju nahrali Charlie Barrett a Artie Shaw. V roku 1940 ju nahral Glenn Miller a zaznela vo filme Sun Valley Serenade.a stala sa zvučkou jeho orchestra.Zásluhou skladieb ako Moonlight Serenade, Blueberry Hill alebo Tuxedo Junction si zabezpečip postavenie najpopulárnejšieho orchestra v USA. V roku 1941 orchester spolupracoval s kvartetom Modernairs a najúspešnejšou nahrávkou sa stala skladba Chattanooga Choo Choo.Od roku 1942 po vstupe do armady viedol Army Air Force Band. Jeho úspešnú karieru ukončila predčasná smrť počas letu z Anglie do Francuzska 16. decembra 1944.

Glenn Miller was spinning in his grave as Chicago played this. That bass player was so lost during this piece that I hope he somehow made it back to civilization in time for dinner. The brass section got it right, but the rhythm section just plain blew it.
