Not to mention a legendary drummer, Danny Seraphine. To bad they kicked them out back in '90 basically because they didn't need him anymore. The drummer they've got now in my opinion isn't nearly as good. Danny could play with 2 bass drums, and he had this very special style about him you knew it was him every time. Now he's in California came up with his own band called California Transist Authority. The drummer they've got now is just to plain and repetitious. I also wonder if Cetera would still be in there if Kath wouldn't of did what he did. Lamm, Laughnane, and Pankow is.

The ad in the music magazines for this album had the lyrics of this song printed out & they were described as - A Message For 1972: "Dialogue" From the brilliant new "Chicago V" album that's been number one for the previous two months.

Are you optimistic'Bout the way things are going? No, I nver ever think of it at allDon't you ever worryWhen you see what's going down? No, I try to mind my businessThat is no business at allWhen it's time to functionAs a feeling human beingWill your Bachelor of Arts help you get by?I hope to study furtherA few more years or soI also hope to keep a steady highWill you try to change thingsUse the power that you haveThe power of a million new ideas? What is this power you speak ofAnd this need for things to change?I always thought that everything was fineDon't you feel repressionJust closing in around? No, the campus here is very, very freeDoes it make you angryThe way war is dragging on?Well, I hope the PresidentKnows what he's into, I don't knowDon't you ever see the starvationIn the city where you liveAll the needless hungerAll the needless pain?I haven't been there latelyThe country is so fineBut my neighbors don't seem hungry'Cause they haven't got the timeThank you for the talk, you knowYou really eased my mindI was troubled by the shapesOf things to comeWell, if you had my outlookYour feelings would be numbYou'd always think that everything was fineSongwritersRobert LammRead more: Chicago - Dialogue (Part I) Lyrics | MetroLyrics

Check it...................Right now I'm listening to 2 different versions of this song at the EXACT SAME TIME.I'm listening to this version and the version entitled "Chicago V Dialogue 1 & 2 (Terry Kath & Peter Cetera Vocals) by The Music of Chicago and related.I'm blasting the TK & PC vocals version while barely being able to hear the full version. It's very interesting because I can hear stuff that made the song that I never noticed before.

Such youthful optimism. I hate to sound like an old curmudgeon but are there songs like this out there today? What I hear from what my son listens to is whining about how miserable some singers life is or has been. Grow up and make a difference and stop whining!! I'm done....Discuss

One of Chicago's best... Should have been a bigger hit, though by this time the album had been no 1 nine weeks in a row, I suspect many Judy bought the LP

This song is absolute proof how fucking awesome Chicago was with Terry Kath! Be it his voice or that guitar, the man was awesome! Chicago was never the same after he passed away. RIP Terry Kath. And you gotta love the horns!! THIS IS CHICAGO!!!

4:50- I can't tell if that's a guitar or somebody yelling/singing. I swear Terry kath tapped into that same kinda energy jimi hendrix did where their instruments WERE their voices at times. Righteous stuff forsure

Sad how these lyrics still ring just as true today as they did back then.

I first listened to this around 1978 on an "all in one" stereo. I was learning to play the piano. I later joined a band and learned to play all of the instruments in our band. I still play a little piano, but I really miss playing bass when I hear Peter having a blast on the bass guitar. I'm now listening on Marley headphones and I have adjusted the output of my computer with an E.Q. It really brings out the bass riffs. Great, haunting vocals. Too bad we lost so many people to drugs, alcohol and untreated mental illnesses.

Disfruto la discogarfía y la fuerza de la combinación perfecta de voces, metales y percusiones de CHICAGO principalmente en el periodo de 1969 a 1978, su música fue distintiva en mi juventud y tiempo de escuela
