Always thought this song could be reworked nicely - maybe not with horns, but with guitar-bass-drums

Critics from Rolling Stone, et al., think anything beyond three-chord guitar noise is 'pretentious.' Musical blasphemies, indeed. They particularly had it in, it seems, for jazz rock and Prog rock. Morons and assholes, to be charitable about it.

Being a songwriter...not even close to the par of famous...I remember reading periodicals like Rolling Stone mag, Circus Mag, and even our local Scene Mag in Cleveland back in the day blasting artists for their latest releases...made me kinda sad that some talentless hack journalist (who probably didn't even like the artist) slammed countless releases back then! I got some criticism on a wayyyy smaller scale for some of mine...so I always felt for the Big Guys with record contracts........plus...it's a very tuneful song. Always loved it!)

The critics were (and are) wrong :)

I love being the first to comment on a new post, particularly one of this quality and taste! When I was a junior in high school when this album came out in '73, I was sure that this was a beautiful love ballad, and it can be. But then after some reading 40 years later, it was Bobby Lamm's response to some of the crappy music reviews he and Chicago had been getting from Day 1 (particularly from "Rolling Stone", like who cares about them?). I think all the so-called critics were WRONG! :)
