I've met Daxx many times and he was always polite and always managed to take time to come and see us before or after shows. His dad didn't hand him anything. He and his brother Miles started their own band years ago and had to play rinky dink clubs and self release albums. Daxx originally replaced Bun E. when he was missing shows because of back problems and when CT and Bun split ways, for whatever reason, it was just natural to have his son, that grew up playing their songs, replace Bun E.

His name is Daxx Nielsen. Rick's son. I was bummed when I went to see them a few years back and no Bun E but Daxx was doing a great job. I have seen Cheap Trick at least 10times and I have met them twice. Super guys.

it might just be the effect of playing it live. Most bands play everything just a little faster live.

Saw them 2 nights in a row in '77 and once again a couple years later. Hate to say it, but either I was caught in a tailspin or CT was never able to capture the magic of their first effort again, cuz none of their subsequent records measure up to the debut album. Hot Love was the most popular among my friends, but I'm a twisted sum beetch and Ballad of TV Violence will always be my CT favorite.
