Seeing and hearing these guys actually do this was an experience that can never be equaled, paralleled, bettered, or adequately reproduced from any recording medium save that of one's own cerebral cortex.Or one's own balls.Rock On.

These guys could've done a brilliant cover of T-Rex' 'Hot Love'.

Thanks for putting up the Cheap Trick videos! They are a great and underrated band.

Tonight's song is "Hot Love" by Cheap Trick. This is a portion of the earliest known footage of the band, from a concert at The Night Gallery (a long gone venue in Waukegan, Illinois) in 1977.

I bought tickets for my friends and everybody in my family to see Cheap Trick play the 1st album start to finish in Boston...did you happen to catch one of the performances of that? It is the best record, I think, but "In Color" is a close second...I saw that the next night!

Jack Douglas is great and, you're right, 'Rocks' is a true classic. I don't think I noticed originally, but this video is a bunch of Budokan footage edited to match the studio recording. Whoever did it did a really killer job! I am on a drum forum that Bun E is on, and I asked him about those drums - he still has them. It's an old like 40's-era set of Leedys with a 26" bass drum - MONSTER drums. He's one of my favorite RnR drummers ever; very economical and a pocket that's a mile wide.

Yeah man, CT's first record is one of the few 'perfect' albums that I know of; it's seamless, fully realized, and totally original. 'when you consider what else was going on at the time, I give Epic a lot of credit for having the vision for even signing them. It's a brilliant record but not easily categorized, and had a lot of very heavy and controversial content, so it must have been challenging to market. But thank God they did, because this record is one for the ages.

Wow, that must have been a precurser to USA Night Flight, one of my favorite shows of all time. Night Flight didn't start until 1981.

@shelly10538 Night Gallery was an all night series on the U.S.A. channel in the late 70s early 80s. It showed concerts, videos and cult films.
