I grew up with drive in movie theaters and restaurants. Cars that cost 3 thousand dollars new and .25 cent gas. Yes it was simpler back then.

I love this song too. I like a song that can take you back to a simpler time. If you like this one, check out 20 years ago by Kenny Rogers, Are the good times really over for good by Merle Haggard, The Lat cowboy song by Ed Bruce, Watermelon Wine by Tom T Hall Just to name a few.

My father used play this song constantly on this Charlie Pride cassette he had. Every time he played it he would tell how it was like growing up in the 50's/60's

Always loved listening to Charlie and was lucky, got to go see him along with O.B. McClinton, Dolly Parton, Freddie Hart and Ronnie Millsap back in the 70's. Sure do miss the simplicity of the way things were back then. GOD BLESS AMERICA

I am 13, I used to live in Colorado Springs, and growing up my family didn't have phones or tablets, but I remember the little things, I remember waking up at 5 in the morning and go in my mom and dad's room and turn on the tv and watch Recess, a old tv show from the 90's, and I remember on Sundays me and my sisters would wake up and go down stairs and watch tv, because back then we had Comcast Cable TV and that was the only time for us kids to watch things thst we liked, in Colorado I remember so many of the little things, and now, living in Missouri, I don't remember anything that we did here, if I could go back and do it again the same way I would, I wouldn't change a thing, because those memories that I remember, are the best times I ever had :'( but I am happy now, but I would still like to have those times back.

In 1973 , this was our song. Loved it then and now. Life's storms brought separation, divorce, but love is still there. It seemed so simple then....hmm
