Johnny was right on about Charlie Pride!! I was working at radio station WJJD Chicago in 1966 when Charlie walked in the station and introduced himself to me as a very humble and down to earth guy.I thought as the first black country singer he would have to be a Jackie Robinson and endure a lot a racial slurs ,but he as truly kind and loving person overcame it all to be for almost 50 years one of the most beloved gentleman in the entire music business.I have loved him all these years and i say GOD HAS BLESSED US WITH YOU,CHARLIE!!!!
