Is this If That's What it Takes from Falling Into You? I know very little French so I can't tell, but the music sounds almost exactly the same! If it's not If That's What it Takes (haven't listened to that album in a while so I may be thinking of the wrong song), it sounds very similar.

I really appreciate to see she sang the original version of this song that is in French. When a singer performs a piece of music in their mother tongue I have always noticed that emotion has been shared with the audience more powerfully even if the meaning has not been understood intellectually (the heart always knows & receives) by spectators. I have already seen some English-speaking people who liked to listen to French songs by French-speaking pop artists without any problem. Moreover, finding a translation later is very easy now. I truly like English very much but I would prefer to hear more songs performed in their original languages only to keep our world full of shades, variety, beauty... and above all authenticity and creativity.

I´ve asked this before, but anyone have a better quality version of this? This is the best version interpetation of the song I have ever heard her sing. Full of passion. If anyone knows a better version please mail it to me. Thanks.

This performance and song made me go out and find this album as quickly as possible. French is not my native language but I know well enough to understand the song. It is quite likely my favorite of all her songs. She uses the same melody in a song on her "Falling Into You" album but the lyrics are nowhere near as powerful as these.

@wiimania9 I always listen to this song because that line you mentioned touches me so much. Plus brillante plus belle, comme une autre étincelle. Je me changerai en or, pour que tu m'aimes encore. Not just the message, but the power and the truth in her voice is what makes her so unique

KILLED it :) I wish we had better quality.

While it's better to understand the words, the raw emotion she emits in this performance is enough to be completely moved.

The phrase at the end: 'Je me changerai en or/ Pour que tu m'aimes encore' (I'll change myself to gold/ For you to love me again) always grabs me at the end and proves why it is so beautiful. It also explains why it made 'D'eux' the best-selling French album in all of history.

This was a stellar performance. I especially loved 3:10 on... and 3:34 to 3:38! Such conviction!!!
