Oh crap, I've become old. I love this short so much and yet something bothers me. It's oddly animated and makes no sense, but after - what, almost a decade and a half at this point? - growing up and out from this era of cartoons, this little animation is a good example to me of how awesome Cartoon Network was in my brain. It united us all with these incredibly entertaining cartoons, and they felt like a big, diverse family that wanted to spend time with each other, like with the alien invasion crossover. We all have our favorites, but nostalgia is a very fickle thing. Anyone tried going back and watch Dexter's Lab or Billy and Mandy or any other show from this era? I loved the hell out of those cartoons, but I could not sit through an entire episode of either show when I popped onto Netflix recently. This probably won't apply to everyone and every cartoon from this time, but in my case, it's enough to be lamented. Nostalgia is a horrible blessing I'm afraid we're all afflicted with. I find myself - and I'm sure I'm not alone - having more fun recalling my favorite episodes and favorite moments from all of these shows than sitting down and watching those episodes and moments. Maybe we're too grown up and cynical to fully enjoy these as we once did, and maybe they weren't as great as we all thought, but I feel like there is still substance and genius within our old line-up of cartoons that could trump most of the modern shows. Adventure Time and Gumball and Steven Universe and all those are good in their own right, but they're surrounded by these mindless groupings of flashing images and noises. The technology makes it cost effectient, sure, but you get what you pay for, guys. Problem Solvers and Uncle Grandpa are easily two of the most predominant examples. My favorite show - Ed, Edd, n Eddy - is beautiful in a weird way, and I will always, ALWAYS prefer the scratchy, hand drawn, inconsistent art style over anything Flash can throw at me. It's so easy to screw up by hand or by mouse, but hand-drawn just feels so much better when it's done right. That's my unfocused tangent for the evening.

I would say this is nostalgic.... if the cartoon network from my country didn't edit out 60% of the video....
