I saw them back then and I honestly had forgotten the harmonies they produced . What wonderful music . I thought maybe I was just over rating her because of the time passed but their will never be another like this

Wow. Karen is def the star of the show. She is a little dynamo. Singing so beautifully and smooth and playing her ass off at the same time! What a talent! Very impressive, Karen! John Bonham of Led Zeppelin once said of Karen that "she couldn't last ten minutes with a Zeppelin number" after Karen won Playboy's Best Rock Drummer of the Year for 1975. I'm not so sure. She's a kick-ass drummer, and let's hear John deliver those honey sweet vocals whist playing those complex rhythms. Karen, you

I saw the Carpenters 4 times, & every time they were pristine in their vocals & presentation--Karens voice in person was at times, so pure it brang tears to my eyes. She sang like no one else, & was an awesome drummer also. We miss you Karen & Rich. Wolfsky9

Never saw this kind of performance any time later? Still greatly missed, Karen Carpenter, the Drummer who sang with a one in a million Voice!

How is it possible that they sound so good live? What a fantastic tight group of musicians. I can't believe how easy Karen makes it look. Wow!, such talent.

Totally amazing! There is more talent on that stage than most of today's performers combined. The composer of these songs is also in a very special class too. Some where the train came of the tracks. Thank you YouTube, for giving us a place where we can enjoy the great performers.

And to think that the ticket prices in '72 might have been $7.50 or so. Now one pays $75.00 (and up) to see tripe like Lady Agag (Gaga)! (Agag was the Amelekite king that Samuel "hew to pieces" in I Samuel - She had to get her name from somewhere!)

@greenwich1754 I totally agree. I think if the masters of this still exist, a recording should be put in the Smithsonian. This is a benchmark of popular music perfection. I love how Doug Strawn and others in the band play their instruments perfectly and multi-task back and forth between the vocals flawlessly. Imagine the goosebumps in the live audience during this - you can tell by the cheering at the end they knew they'd just heard something special.
