Appice has been totally over-rated without a doubt for years...The most impressive thing that he does is spin the sticks...Saw him with the band King Kobra back in the 80's...Still the same, he is one that has never progressed on the drums...Same ole loud drums and fills...I remember reading a quote from him in the 1978 modern drummer mag saying that there will not be any great drummers in the future etc etc...Chambers, Vinnie, Hakim, Smith, Gadd...Appice can't even sit at the table with those guys!

I cant say I've followed Carmine's work or I wouldn't call myself a fan but damn how can anyone deny his mark in rock drumming? He is without a doubt one of the pioneers of the heaviness and animalistic drumming we rock drummers love. Besides, who has the balls to do some of the things he does in solos like that at the 7:00 mark. Its somewhat cheesy but at least its memorable and stylistic!! I'd rather see him go for it than Thomas Pridgen or anyone with guitar center chops any day of the week!

My Drumming hero whom I met back in the 80's and was the first person to get as a collective the autographs of yet to be released and known power trio Blue Murder backstage at the Vancouver BC Aerosmith Permanent Vacation tour stop. It was amazing to sit and chat with him and Tony Franklin and the unbelievably awesome John Sykes.

I was standing in Sam Ash Music - Paramus when Carmine stopped to anounce that John Bonham was in the crowd. There he was, standing right next to me.

Awesome drummer, totally in sync with the other players, also even if he is going for simple it's better than to do something complex like a coward.

I loved 5:35! I think his China sounds fine (It's his choice) He's playing his butt off. He has a huge history that didn't develop by being a hack. He's had a great career. Give credit where credit is due. This was 8 minutes well used!

what's with all of the hate. This man's forgotten more about drumming than most will know in a lifetime. The fact that he's well into his 60's makes no difference to anyone? Well, if you get there, show everyone how good you are. This guy still brings it.

He's lost a step or two but was VERY influential w/ Vanilla Fudge and w/ Rod Stewart in the late '70's. No need to be rude or nasty.

Hear, hear! Not to mention he also gigged with King Crimson. This is not his first rodeo, folks.
